AVEVA is a British industrial software company headquartered at High Cross, Madingley Road, in Cambridge, and has been a member of the Schneider Electric group since Schneider completed its acquisition of the business. AVEVA Group Limited is the holding company, registered in the United Kingdom under number 2937296, and AVEVA Solutions Limited owns the trademarks. Company material put out with the Schneider Electric group in 2026 describes AVEVA as having more than 6,000 employees, 5,000 partners and 5,700 certified developers, with operations worldwide.

Platform and product families

The centre of the portfolio is CONNECT, the company's industrial intelligence platform, which is positioned as a system that links engineering, operations and third-party applications around shared data. Around it sit long-established product families: the PI System for real-time data, including PI Data Infrastructure, PI Server, PI Vision and AVEVA Historian; operations software such as InTouch HMI, System Platform, Edge, Plant SCADA, Enterprise SCADA, Manufacturing Execution System, Production Management and Predictive Analytics; engineering tools including E3D Design, Unified Engineering, Process Simulation, Enterprise Resource Management and Asset Information Management; and data visualisation products such as Insight, Point Cloud Manager and the Unified Operations Center. AVEVA also operates a partner portal, a training and certification programme and a student training offer.

Where the software is used

Industry pages on the site cover oil, gas and energy with separate tracks for upstream, pipeline, LNG, gas processing, downstream operations and hydrogen. Power and utilities material addresses power generation, renewables, transmission and distribution, and the remaining sectors served include chemicals, mining, metals and minerals, manufacturing, life sciences, pulp and paper, marine and ports, water and wastewater, data centres and transportation. The same products therefore appear across the energy value chain, from field and pipeline operations to refinery and petrochemical plant control.

Activity in 2026

AVEVA's 2026 press releases list a series of investments, product launches and partnerships. These include a commitment of about GBP 30 million to a Cambridge research and development hub; new artificial intelligence capabilities announced at the AVEVA World 2026 customer event; an expansion of CONNECT in India; a lifecycle digital twin architecture for gigawatt-scale AI factories developed with NVIDIA; collaboration agreements with AWS, IFS and Snowflake covering industrial AI and IT/OT data integration; a first sustainable aviation fuel purchase, five years ahead of its World Economic Forum First Movers Coalition commitment; an Industrial Intelligence Report produced with IMD Business School; and two senior appointments, Khaled Salah as vice president for Africa and Brock Ballard as chief revenue officer from 1 October 2026.

Relationship with Cognite

Schneider Electric's agreement of 30 June 2026 to acquire Cognite for USD 3.1 billion is presented as a transaction that reinforces AVEVA. The plan is for Cognite's Data Fusion and knowledge graph to act as an industrial data foundation inside CONNECT, with Cognite's Atlas AI adding generative and agentic capabilities, and for the two businesses to form a unified platform once the deal closes. Cognite would then be consolidated in Schneider Electric's Industrial Automation business, while AVEVA remains the group's wholly owned industrial software company and the anchor for its industrial intelligence offer, with an investor section retained on aveva.com and quarterly analyst communication handled by the parent group.

Support, training and community

Commercial access is organised around subscription options including a Flex programme, with a customer success and support organisation behind it. AVEVA runs instructor-led and online training, documentation and a student training programme, and it maintains a partner ecosystem with a find-a-partner directory, a partner portal and a route for new partners and system integrators. Customer-facing material includes success stories, white papers, webinars, podcasts, presentations from the AVEVA World user conference and an annual Industrial Intelligence Report. The corporate section covers leadership, global offices, careers and early careers, an Action for Good community programme, a global inclusive culture page and sustainability reporting with ESG data and impact stories.
