Flowserve Corporation designs and manufactures pumps, valves, mechanical seals, actuators and instrumentation for fluid handling, and services that equipment in the field. Formed in 1997 through the merger of BW/IP and Durco International, the group traces some of its brand heritage to the 1790 founding of Simpson & Thompson, which later became Worthington Simpson Pumps. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker FLS and reported sales of USD 4,729 million for 2025.

Two divisions and their product brands

Flowserve reports through two operating segments. The Flowserve Pumps Division builds centrifugal, positive displacement and specialty pumps under names including Durco, Worthington, Byron Jackson, SIHI, INNOMAG and IDP, together with energy recovery devices and decoking systems for refinery coker units. The Flow Control Division covers valves and actuation, with product lines such as Valtek, Worcester, Argus, Kammer, McCANNA, Nordstrom and MOGAS valves, Limitorque and Automax actuators, PacSeal and Edward products, plus valve software and instrumentation. Around these product families the company sells aftermarket parts, repairs, upgrades, field services, reliability assessments, engineering support and training, delivered through its global network of Quick Response Centres.

Markets served

Flowserve's customer base spans oil and gas from upstream production through midstream transportation to refining and petrochemicals, alongside chemical processing, power generation, nuclear, mining, water and general industry. Digital products include the RedRaven monitoring platform for flow control equipment and the Energy Advantage Program, which packages efficiency and emissions improvements. The company reported about USD 400 million of nuclear awards during 2025, and in February 2026 it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Trillium Flow Technologies' Valves Division, a supplier of engineered valves and actuators for nuclear, conventional power, industrial and critical infrastructure duty, excluding Trillium's French operations; that business contributed USD 225 million to backlog in the second quarter of 2026. Flowserve has also promoted its nuclear portfolio at industry events including the NECX conference, and Alice DeBiasio serves as president of the Flow Control division.

Cash from operations was USD 506 million, a figure that includes a USD 173 million merger termination fee received net of costs and taxes and a USD 199 million one-off cash effect from the divestiture of legacy asbestos liabilities, and around USD 365 million was returned to shareholders through dividends and buybacks. The 2025 results were published on 5 February 2026.

Second quarter 2026 and guidance

On 29 July 2026 Flowserve reported quarterly bookings of USD 1,348 million, up 25.5 percent, including record aftermarket bookings of USD 696 million and original equipment bookings up 43.9 percent, while sales fell 1.6 percent to USD 1,169 million on an organic decline of 3.3 percent. Operating margin expanded 70 basis points to 13.0 percent and adjusted operating margin to 15.3 percent, reported earnings per share were USD 0.77 and adjusted earnings per share USD 0.95; backlog rose 16.9 percent year on year to USD 3,336 million. The company said it had achieved a 14th consecutive quarter of year-on-year adjusted gross margin expansion, but cut full year organic sales guidance to approximately minus 1 percent because of the effect of the Middle East conflict on its run-rate business, while raising the low end of adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of USD 4.05 to USD 4.20. Total sales growth for 2026 is guided to approximately 3 percent, including about 300 basis points from acquisitions. Management has set 2030 targets of mid-single-digit organic sales growth, an adjusted operating margin of about 20 percent and double-digit adjusted earnings per share growth, and says it reached an earlier 2027 margin target two years ahead of schedule.
