Fluxys is an independent gas infrastructure group headquartered at Kunstlaan 31 in Brussels, Belgium. It employs roughly 1,500 people in gas transmission and storage and in the handling of liquefied natural gas, and reports that its associated companies operate 28,000 kilometres of pipeline and LNG terminals with a combined regasification capacity of 485 terawatt hours a year. Its footprint covers Europe, the Middle East and South America, with terminals in Belgium, France, Greece and Chile and underground storage at Loenhout in Belgium.

Transmission, storage and LNG

The group's activities are organised around moving and storing molecules. Transmission covers the Belgian network and the pipelines of affiliated operators abroad; storage is concentrated at the Loenhout facility, which the group holds out as its underground gas storage site; and terminalling is delivered through the Zeebrugge terminal in Belgium, the Dunkerque terminal in France and further capacity in Greece and Chile. Beyond natural gas, Fluxys is building infrastructure for hydrogen, biomethane and carbon dioxide, and offers shippers tariffs, capacity booking tools, transparency data and a price simulator for its market zones. The Belgian business is run by Fluxys Belgium, a separately listed subsidiary on Euronext that owns and operates the national transmission, storage and LNG infrastructure.

Ownership and group structure

The group's shareholder register is dominated by Belgian public and institutional investors.

  • Publigas, the Belgian municipal holding company in the gas sector, holds 77.41 per cent.
  • Energy Infrastructure Partners, a Swiss infrastructure investor specialising in energy, holds 15.21 per cent.
  • The Federal Holding and Investment Company holds 3.43 per cent.
  • AG Insurance, part of the Ageas group, holds 1.97 per cent.
  • Ethias, whose main shareholders are the Belgian federal government and the Flemish and Walloon regions, holds 1.31 per cent.

Operating companies and affiliates published by the group include FluxSwiss, which holds the Transitgas pipeline system through Switzerland; Fluxys TENP, operator of the TENP pipeline; Fluxys Deutschland, associated with the NEL and EUGAL pipelines; Interconnector; Dunkerque LNG; Fluxys hydrogen; Fluxys c-grid and Fluxys c-grid Antwerp for carbon transport, including in the port of Antwerp; GMSL; and Fluxys Brasil and Fluxys Chile.

Energy transition projects

Fluxys frames its transition work around creating a system that can handle low-carbon molecules and carbon dioxide alongside natural gas. In Germany the group worked with OGE to lay the first sections of a hydrogen network, operating within the national core network framework approved by the German government, which the company says mitigates investment risk. In Belgium, Fluxys c-grid is developing carbon transport infrastructure and the group has partnered with Elia Group to coordinate planning between gas and electricity infrastructure. The 2025 annual report discussion on the group's site notes that the hydrogen market is struggling to gain traction while the carbon dioxide market is gathering momentum, and sets out the infrastructure, with its storage capacity and ability to handle hydrogen and CO2, as the group's contribution to a lower-carbon energy mix.

Financial results

Fluxys publishes key figures for the group covering the year to 31 December 2025 alongside 2024 comparatives. Operating revenue rose to 1,367.5 million euro from 1,266.8 million euro, EBITDA to 1,026.0 million euro from 973.8 million euro, and EBIT to 575.2 million euro from 531.1 million euro. Net profit increased to 404.6 million euro from 337.3 million euro. Investment in property, plant and equipment for the period was 330.5 million euro, against 372.5 million euro in 2024, while total property, plant and equipment stood at 5,042.8 million euro at the end of 2025. The group published its annual report for 2025, and its financial information pages link the annual financial reports of Fluxys SA for 2025 and earlier years.

Contacting the group

Fluxys does not publish a single general enquiry mailbox. Its contact page lists a press team, community relations, legal and human resources addresses, each with the same Brussels telephone number, and separates commercial enquiries by activity: transport, storage and Zeebrugge LNG each have their own address, as do hydrogen transport and carbon transport, with further addresses for the German, French, Swiss, Brazilian and Chilean operations. Emergencies are directed to the Belgian 112 service, and the group also maintains a damage-reporting route for works near its pipelines.
