L&T Energy Hydrocarbon is the hydrocarbon and energy engineering, procurement and construction business of Larsen & Toubro Limited. Its own website, lntenergy.com, presents the operation under the shorter brand L&T Energy, with the registered office at L&T House, Ballard Estate, Post Box 278, Mumbai 400 001. The business is not a separate legal entity: it sits inside Larsen & Toubro, the Indian engineering and construction group, and draws on seven decades of engineering experience, with work delivered across the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia and Europe.

Six verticals

The operation is organised into Hydrocarbon Offshore, Hydrocarbon Onshore, Green & Clean Energy, CarbonLite Solutions, Asset Management and Offshore Wind. Hydrocarbon Offshore covers end-to-end engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning for fixed platforms, subsea pipelines, process platforms, modular fabrication and brownfield projects, supported by owned marine assets. Hydrocarbon Onshore handles refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing facilities, storage terminals and cross-country pipelines on a turnkey basis. CarbonLite Solutions focuses on carbon capture, utilisation and storage, green hydrogen and low-carbon process work, while Green & Clean Energy covers renewable generation, hybrid systems, electrolyser technology and clean fuels. Offshore Wind provides EPC for wind farms, fixed and floating foundations, substations and subsea infrastructure, and Asset Management offers lifecycle services aimed at extending the life of existing energy infrastructure.

Offshore execution and marine assets

The offshore portfolio is grouped into offshore platforms and modules, modular fabrication, brownfield modification, subsea systems and pipelines, transportation and installation, decommissioning, and floating solutions. Fabrication is carried out at modular yards in India and Oman, and the company describes its track record in terms of new process platforms, wellhead platforms, subsea pipelines, gas compression modules, FPSO topside engineering, jack-up rig refurbishment, platform modifications, living quarter modules and deepwater projects. Recent offshore work includes the Marjan yard project in the Middle East.

Order intake in 2025 and 2026

The offshore business has taken a run of large awards, judged against the group's own order-size classification. On 26 March 2025 Larsen & Toubro announced its largest order to date for the offshore hydrocarbon business, followed on 29 July 2025 by an ultra-mega offshore order. The 2026 sequence began on 4 August with an ultra-mega order from ADNOC Offshore, continued on 7 August with major offshore orders from ONGC and on 17 August with an ultra-mega order for a strategic offshore development project in the Middle East, and included a further large offshore order from ONGC announced on 9 September 2026. Onshore, the group announced a large order for its hydrocarbon onshore business in January 2026. Order wins of this size are classified by the group as significant, large, major or ultra-mega according to value band.

Technology, safety and sustainability

L&T Energy publishes separate pages for innovation and technology and for health, safety and environment, with digital twins, automation, robotics and analytics used to reduce material waste and improve energy efficiency. Its sustainability material covers decarbonisation through CCUS and hydrogen, green infrastructure such as offshore wind and solar hybrid plants, and responsible execution covering emissions, water, waste and biodiversity across onshore and offshore sites.

Management, ownership and contact

Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director and President of the L&T Group, leads the energy business; he was elevated to that group role on 21 March 2025. Because the business sits within Larsen & Toubro, its financial reporting, annual review, board composition and corporate policies are published by the parent company. L&T Energy's own contact page provides a web enquiry form, a toll-free number in India on 1800 209 4545 and an international line on +91 22 6752 5899, and publishes a recruitment mailbox for candidates; general enquiries go to the parent group's information desk, which forwards messages to the relevant department.
