Oceaneering International, Inc. is an engineered services and products company headquartered in Houston, Texas, and listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker OII. Its main market is the offshore energy industry, and it also sells applied technology to the defence, material handling, aerospace, science and renewable energy sectors. The company has been trading since 1964, when Mike Hughes and Johnny Johnson formed a Gulf of Mexico diving business called World Wide Divers, and its own history section marks six decades of operation.

How the oil and gas business is organised

The offshore portfolio runs from remotely operated vehicle services and subsea hardware through to inspection, maintenance and repair. Published service lines include asset integrity management, inspection and non-destructive testing, diving, decommissioning, pipeline repair, flow assurance, survey and mapping, and special periodic surveys including underwater inspection in lieu of drydocking. On the hardware side the company supplies subsea connection systems, distribution equipment, subsea tiebacks, umbilical systems and intervention tooling, and it offers workover control systems and well intervention services. It also provides positioning and data services through its C-Nav positioning products and data management and communications offering.

Robotics and offshore assets

Remotely operated vehicles are the group's best-known capability, and the company presents ROV services and piloting as its flagship offering, covering work-class vehicles, remote services and uncrewed surface vessel services. Its vessel Ocean Intervention II supports offshore survey and construction scopes, and the group operates a wider fleet of vessels and remote systems for inspection, repair and maintenance campaigns. Manufactured products include Grayloc connectors, rotator technologies and other subsea components that are sold separately from the service contracts.

Work outside oil and gas

Oceaneering has extended the same engineering base into several other markets. In renewable energy it markets fixed and floating offshore wind services alongside carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and nuclear work. Its material handling and logistics business builds mobile robotics including the MaxMover counterbalance forklift, the CompactMover 1200 forklift, the UniMover underride unit and automated trailer loading systems, supported by supervisory software and lifecycle services. The autonomous transit systems business supplies driverless shuttle technology. Aerospace and defence work is delivered through Oceaneering Technologies and covers marine services, submarine systems, deep submergence systems, submarine rescue, hyperbaric systems, unmanned undersea systems, cargo transfer at sea and complex structural manufacturing with integrated engineering, welding and non-destructive testing. A spaceflight line supplies thermal protection systems, hardware and softgoods, mission design and astronaut training, and life support and extravehicular activity systems.

The company reported first-quarter 2026 results on 22 April 2026 and second-quarter 2026 results on 22 July 2026, and scheduled its third-quarter release and conference call for 21 October 2026.
