RelyOn, formerly RelyOn Nutec, is a Danish-headquartered safety, survival and technical training group serving safety-critical industries. It was formed from the merger of RelyOn, Falck Safety Services and Nutec, and now trades under the shorter RelyOn name from a network of training centres and customer sites on six continents. The group publishes regional booking addresses such as [email protected] and [email protected] but no single group-wide enquiries address, and it describes its values as reliability, leadership, partnership and innovation.

Four solution lines

The business is organised into four service areas. Training delivers the safety, survival, fire, electrical, maritime and leadership courses. Digital covers cloud-based applications, digital learning content and simulation technology. Training Management Services provides managed workforce compliance and competence services, including verifying that people are certified and competent before they enter high-risk environments. Consulting covers electrical engineering advice and audit and inspection services. Course portfolios are grouped into RelyOn Academies, which the company describes as its centres of excellence: a Leadership Academy drawing on experience from US Navy and international defence leadership practice; an Electrical Academy teaching low and high voltage work with adaptive learning technology and explosive-area safety training; a Fire Academy covering emergency response consultancy and realistic scenario training for industry and public services; a Maritime Academy operated through Simwave in the Netherlands; a PetroSkills Academy covering drilling and lifting operations, with instructor-led, digital and simulation-based delivery; and The Competency Alliance, the oil and gas course library acquired with PetroSkills.

Operating regions and centre network

RelyOn markets to utilities, renewables, oil and gas, maritime, public and defence customers, and its location directory runs to roughly 60 sites. In the United Kingdom it lists Aberdeen, Teesside, Glasgow, Liverpool, York, Swindon, Brentwood and Daventry; in the Netherlands Amsterdam, Rotterdam at both Heijplaat and Maasvlakte, Den Helder, Zwolle, Berkel en Rodenrijs and Barendrecht; in Norway Bergen, Stavanger, Oslo, Trondheim and Kristiansand; and in Germany Bremerhaven, Cuxhaven and Heinsberg. Other European sites are Esbjerg in Denmark, Oostende in Belgium and Gdansk in Poland. In the Americas the group operates from Houston, Lafayette, Houma and Robert in Louisiana, Virginia Beach, and two partner locations at Massachusetts Maritime Academy and SUNY Maritime College, plus Dartmouth and Mount Pearl in Canada, Altamira and Ciudad del Carmen in Mexico, Macae and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Georgetown in Guyana and Tunapuna in Trinidad and Tobago. Asia-Pacific coverage includes eight Australian centres at Belmont, Perth, Gladstone, Brisbane, North Lakes, Hoxton Park, Knoxfield and Brooklyn, four Malaysian sites at Kuala Lumpur, Miri, Johor and Cherating, plus Baku, Doha, Dubai, Singapore's Tuas and Bangkok. The company reported an average global service feedback score of 4.6 out of 5 in the first half of 2024.

Ownership and acquisition-led growth

Polaris sold RelyOn Nutec to Mubadala Capital in May 2024, and the company published a prospectus the same year ahead of an expected listing on Oslo Bors. Growth since then has come mainly through acquisition: The Competency Alliance and PetroSkills in February 2025, Clyde Training Solutions in March 2025, Bureau 9000 in June 2025, Electrical Training and Development in July 2025, HSEQ Professional in August 2025, Competency Training in September 2025, Simwave and a training centre from STC Next in October 2025, then Fire Training Group and Cadpeople during 2026. The group also appears in industry approval directories, including the IWCF member list, and its training brands carry approvals such as GWO, OPITO, STCW, STI-PEL, IRATA and NEBOSH.

Governance and published material

RelyOn publishes governance and ownership, management, sustainability, careers and press release pages, and runs a knowledge hub of articles, case studies, webinars and whitepapers for customers. Its site is published in English, Danish, Dutch, German, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish, reflecting the spread of its centres. Governance follows a Danish model in which the general meeting elects the board of directors.
