Current gas references include Saudi Aramco's Fadhili Gas Increment Program and the Jafurah Gas Processing Facility, which the company expects to complete in 2026. In refining, the Dos Bocas refinery for PEMEX in Mexico was awarded in 2020 at KRW 4.5 trillion, the largest contract in the company's history.
Low-carbon projects and partnerships
Sustainable energy covers green hydrogen, green ammonia and e-fuels such as e-SAF and e-methanol, together with low-carbon fuels and chemicals from waste and biomass, and carbon management including capture, utilisation and storage, blue hydrogen and blue ammonia. Awards recorded in 2025 include the WVR Hydrogen Energy Center in the United States, where construction started in 2026, a FEED contract for the DG Fuels sustainable aviation fuel plant in the United States, the INPEX Abadi onshore LNG FEED in Indonesia, the Emirates Biotech Falcon PLA pre-EPC package in the United Arab Emirates and the ADNOC TA'ZIZ methanol project. Earlier low-carbon awards were the PBSB Phoenix biorefinery in Malaysia in 2024, the company's first sustainable aviation fuel project, and ethylene storage facilities in Qatar the same year. Samsung E&A took a stake in the Norwegian electrolyser company Nel ASA in 2025, and in May 2026 the two firms introduced CompassH2-A+, a 100 megawatt pressurised alkaline electrolysis solution. In 2026 the company also signed a business agreement with the Korea Water Resources Corporation on water sector growth, following its 2022 acquisition of a major stake in Vietnam's DNP Water.
