STC is a Dutch education group for the port, shipping, logistics and process industries. Its head office is at Lloydstraat 300 in Rotterdam, which the group also describes as its international head office, and teaching is spread over five locations in the Netherlands, from Rotterdam and Brielle to Katwijk aan Zee and Zwolle. The offer covers pre-vocational and vocational routes, higher professional education and short courses for working professionals, with simulators and practice installations at the centre of the teaching method.

Programmes and facilities
Four learning routes are published: vmbo, mbo, hbo and master level, and STC Next for adults and companies. Subject matter concentrates on the port, shipping, process technology, logistics and maritime engineering, and the group runs simulator-based practical training that mirrors vessel bridges, engine rooms, cranes and process plants. New dredging simulators were opened in September 2025. In July 2026 STC and Hogeschool Rotterdam signed a renewed cooperation agreement covering their joint maritime and logistics degree programmes.
Governance and industry ties
STC is led by a two-member College van Bestuur formed by Sven Tump and Yolande Ulenaers, whose appointment was extended in November 2025. The Raad van Toezicht, chaired by M. Vogelzang, includes J.M. van Bijsterveldt-Vliegenthart, Vivienne de Leeuw, chief financial officer of the Port of Rotterdam Authority and appointed on 1 September 2026, V. Salet of HyCC and K. Kerssemakers of Anthony Veder. A separate advisory council brings in representatives of Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, Deltalinqs, Nobian, Nautilus International, Baggerbedrijf De Boer, United Fish Auctions and the law firm Kennedy Van der Laan, linking course design to employers around the port.
Recent activity
The group relaunched its public website on 22 September 2026, gathering its programmes, courses and training in one environment, and a new STC Next site went live the same day. Its fifth Maritime Talent Day is scheduled for 2 October 2026 at Lloydstraat 300. Other 2025 and 2026 items include a published vision on learning and development, the signing of an AanDeBak guarantee agreement with Defence in October 2025, and participation in the Wereldhavendagen port festival. Annual reports from 2022 through 2025, strategic quality plans, governance rules and a whistleblowers' scheme are available on the site, with the 2025 report the most recent.
