Subsea 7 S.A. is an offshore project and services contractor working for oil, gas and renewable energy clients. The company designs and installs subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines, carries out life-of-field maintenance and decommissioning work, and delivers transmission and foundation projects for offshore wind farms. Its registered office is at 412F Route d'Esch in Luxembourg, and the group operates through offices in Europe, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia.

What the group covers

The company reports a workforce of 15,000 people working in more than 30 countries, and its contact pages describe more than 80 nationalities across 36 countries. Subsea7 Group also includes Seaway7, which installs offshore wind foundations and cables on either a full engineer, procure, construct and install basis or a transport and install scope, the energy consultancy Xodus, which provides independent engineering aimed at lowering clients' carbon footprints and optimising field development plans, and the subsea technology company 4Subsea, which combines domain expertise with data analytics and digital services to extend asset life and cut operating cost.

The wider group lists locations in Angola, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Shanghai, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Denmark, France, Germany, Lowestoft, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, the United States, Australia and Brazil.

Two halves of the business

One side of the business is built around lower-carbon oil and gas: subsea and conventional field development, life-of-field services and electrification of offshore facilities. The other covers renewables and emerging energies, where the group works on offshore wind, carbon capture and storage and hydrogen. Subsea7 describes early engagement and system innovation as a deliberate approach, working with clients and partners in alliances and joint ventures to standardise and optimise subsea systems rather than delivering each project in isolation.

Fleet, ROVs and onshore yards

The contractor operates a mixed fleet of owned, high-specification and chartered vessels used for pipelay, construction, survey, remote intervention, diving support, heavy lifting, renewables work and decommissioning. It also runs one of the larger remotely operated vehicle fleets in the market, ranging from compact observation-class units to purpose-built drill support vehicles and heavy-duty construction-class systems. Onshore, the group maintains a network of pipeline spoolbases, fabrication yards and operations support bases that it describes as central to building local businesses in the countries where it works.

The company's news list shows a steady run of awards in the current year. Subsea7 announced a contract extension offshore Türkiye on 23 September 2026, a contract offshore the United States on 2 September 2026 and another offshore Brunei on 31 July 2026.
