TAQA, formally the Industrialization & Energy Services Company, is a Saudi Arabian oilfield services group established in 2003 and headquartered in Dhahran in the Eastern Province, at the DTV district of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. It employs more than 5,000 people from 76 nationalities and reports operations in 20 countries, and the general mailbox published for the Dhahran head office is [email protected].

Well solutions and field services

TAQA's largest business line covers work performed at the wellsite, with the following services:

  • Coiled tubing and intervention, delivered from spreads named Challenger, Discovery and Explorer
  • Stimulation, using the vessels HIMS-12, ALNISR and ALKASER
  • Well testing, using the vessels SWISSCO SUPERIOR, INW 3, AZZAM, AL SAQR and AL NISR
  • Completions, cementing, wireline, slickline and fracturing
  • Early production facilities, and H2S and safety services
  • Plugging and abandonment, inspection and marine services
Together these make up the group's well solutions offering, which is delivered to producers across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.

Completions and subsurface technology

The completions division sells a broad equipment catalogue rather than only services. Its wireless intelligent completion line, PulseEight, is offered in Secure, Control and Monitor versions, and subsurface flow control includes the FloRight, FloExtreme, FloCheck, FloFuse and FloSure ranges of inflow control devices plus Cascade3 for injection wells. Sand control covers the FloElite, FloUltra, FloDirect, FloMax, FloTextra and FloShroud screens, the FloTD rotatable screen for extreme applications and Filtrex for remedial, rigless work. Swellable isolation is sold under the SwellRight name in packer, sleeve, feed-through and retrievable variants, with SwellStack for safety valve and gas lift applications and SwellPlug for sealing and lost circulation. The division also supplies FloCompact flow control subs, sliding side doors, mechanical packers, FracRight multi-stage fracturing systems, completion fluids including Nexus retarded acid, ScaleFix scale dissolvents and Zymol enhanced oil recovery additives, and reservoir monitoring products built around FloQuest 8 analysis software, DataServer and distributed temperature and acoustic sensing.

Drilling solutions

On the drilling side TAQA manufactures oil-sealed and mud-lubricated mud motors and launched the Esaar motor range in October 2025, alongside downhole performance tools including Threlix, the Thraxis shock tool and thrusters, and Baten drilling jars and jar boosters. Measurement products span logging while drilling, the Qias measurement-while-drilling system and the ION platform, and directional drilling covers rotary steerable systems, well planning, performance drilling, geothermal drilling and a real-time operations centre that supports wells during execution.

Group structure and scale

TAQA groups its non-core businesses under TAQA Ventures. Subsidiaries include the Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (ARGAS), which covers seismic and geophysical work, and TAQA Geothermal. Affiliated companies listed by the group are Oliden Technology, OPT, STAR and Arabian Drilling, in which TAQA holds an interest. Other businesses associated with the group include Tendeka, Cougar Drilling Services, Target Intervention and AlMansoori Petroleum Services, the well services company whose offices the group lists in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Libya, Bahrain, Egypt, India, Oman, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Products and technologies are organised into three lines: TAQA Drilling Solutions, TAQA Well Completions and TAQA Well Intervention.

Developments in 2025 and 2026

TAQA announced the appointment of a chief executive officer on 27 April 2026. Its well completions business was recognised across six award categories on 8 April 2026 and won two Offshore Achievement Awards on 10 March 2026. Jeff Lembcke joined as executive vice president of products and technologies and chief technology officer on 3 June 2025, and on 13 February 2025 the group signed a memorandum of understanding with EDF on geothermal energy in Saudi Arabia. TAQA Geothermal has also been contracted by KAUST to plan and drill shallow observatory wells at Thuwal. Sustainability and compliance are published as separate sections covering energy transition, quality, health, safety and environment, ESG reporting and a compliance programme, and the group publishes board and executive management pages together with a strategy statement.
