Technip Energies N.V. is an engineering and technology company for energy infrastructure, incorporated in the Netherlands with its corporate seat in Amsterdam and its operational headquarters at Origine, 2126 boulevard de la Défense, Nanterre, in the Paris area. It was separated from TechnipFMC on 12 February 2021 and has no capital ties to its former parent. The group employs more than 18,000 people in 35 countries, generated revenue of €7.2 billion in 2025, is listed on Euronext Paris under the ticker TE and is a member of the CAC Next 20 index; its shares also trade over the counter in the United States as American Depositary Receipts. Arnaud Pieton has been chief executive since the spin-off, and Joseph Rinaldi chairs the board.
Portfolio: two segments and a group of specialists
The company reports through two segments, Technology, Products and Services and Project Delivery. The first licenses process technologies and sells proprietary equipment, including loading systems for liquefied gas carriers and monitoring, automation and inspection technology; the second carries out engineering, procurement, construction, transport and installation, commissioning and start-up. Consulting runs under the Genesis brand, and the group's advanced materials arm produces silicas and zeolite catalysts through Zeolyst International, whose catalyst business was enlarged by acquisition in 2025.
Markets span liquefied natural gas and floating LNG, gas monetisation and gas-to-liquids, offshore, low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia, green hydrogen and Power-to-X, carbon capture, utilisation and storage, refining, ethylene, petrochemicals, fertilizers, biochemicals, circular solutions, sustainable aviation fuel and biofuels, and zero-carbon energies such as floating offshore wind and nuclear. At the time of the spin-off, gas and especially LNG provided more than 60 per cent of turnover, with refining and petrochemicals together contributing 25 to 30 per cent. The group's satellite companies include Ekwil for floating offshore wind, Reju, created in November 2023 for textile-to-textile polyester recycling, Rely, a hydrogen venture formed with John Cockerill in 2023, and NT Energies, a joint venture with the National Petroleum Construction Company of the United Arab Emirates.
Results, backlog and the 2026 Middle East impact
Technip Energies reported revenue of €6.9 billion and net income of €390 million for 2024, and revenue of €7.2 billion for 2025. In its half-year results published on 30 July 2026 the company recorded order intake of €12.7 billion that lifted backlog to a new high of €25 billion, equivalent to about three years of revenue, alongside first-half revenue of €3.7 billion, EBITDA of €212 million after provisions and free cash flow of €183 million before working capital and provisions.
The half year was affected by disruption linked to the conflict in the Middle East, where the company said its personnel were safe and its projects remained fully mobilised, with activity stabilising in the second quarter. It cut its 2026 Project Delivery margin guidance to above 5 per cent, from a previous range of 6.5 to 7.5 per cent, while keeping that segment's revenue guidance at €5.7 billion to €6.3 billion and raising the expected margin for Technology, Products and Services to about 15 per cent on revenue of €1.9 billion to €2.2 billion. Around 75 per cent of the group's awards over the previous 24 months came from outside the Middle East, and the company said the closure of the Strait of Hormuz was pushing customers towards supply diversification, new export routes and fast-track projects.
Flagship projects and technologies
- QatarEnergy's North Field East expansion, awarded in February 2021 with Chiyoda and covering four liquefaction trains, was the largest single award in the group's history.
- Yamal LNG in Russia was built with the company as main contractor, and ADNOC selected it in June 2024 for two liquefaction trains at the Ruwais low-carbon LNG project in Abu Dhabi, part of contract awards reported at US$5.5 billion.
- On Teesside in the United Kingdom the group is delivering the Net Zero Teesside Power carbon capture gas plant with GE Vernova, a contract of more than €1 billion for a joint venture of bp and Equinor.
- In April 2025 it won a contract of about US$1 billion for the Blue Point Number One low-carbon ammonia plant at Donaldsonville, Louisiana, a venture of CF Industries, JERA and Mitsui with planned output of 1.4 million tonnes a year.
- At Galp's Sines refinery in Portugal the group worked on a 270,000 tonne a year advanced biofuels unit and a 100 MW PEM electrolyser producing up to 15,000 tonnes a year of renewable hydrogen.
- It supplied the first liquefied carbon dioxide marine loading arms for the Northern Lights project in Norway in 2021 and later took an engineering contract for carbon capture at the Hafslund Oslo Celsio waste-to-energy plant.
- Second-quarter 2026 awards included Commonwealth LNG, the group's first United States LNG project using its SnapLNG modular solution, and the Coral Norte floating LNG development in Mozambique.
Corporate moves and sustainability
The company bought Ecovyst's Advanced Materials & Catalysts business for US$556 million in September 2025, adding silicas and catalysts capacity to its products segment, and at its November 2024 capital markets day set out a 2025-2028 strategy around a sales pipeline reported at €75 billion. It has continued to sign technology and licensing agreements through 2026, including an exclusive licensing collaboration with SABIC announced on 21 September 2026, a strategic framework agreement with EDF, the Rebound joint venture with Airbus, Safran and Tereos for sustainable aviation fuel, the Nerea chemical recycling offer developed with Alterra and Neste, and a first United States research and development centre for Reju.
Its stated withdrawal from Russian business in March 2022, after the invasion of Ukraine, was followed by a completed exit from the Arctic LNG 2 project on 27 July 2023; the company has said it complied with all applicable sanctions in relation to that project. Sustainability commitments are set out in a programme called Evolve with a 2030 scorecard, and the group is a member of the Alliance for Industry Decarbonization launched with IRENA and of the OPEN-C Foundation for floating wind and marine renewable energy testing.
