Oil-Gas.net began as engineers sharing what they know with each other, and it still works best that way. If you work in oil and gas and have something practical to teach, we would like to publish it.
What we are looking for
- Practical, field-tested explanations: how a system works, how a problem was diagnosed, what a standard really requires, lessons learned.
- Topics within our sections — instrumentation and control, rotating equipment, reliability, process safety, corrosion, piping, operations and maintenance.
- Original work of about 800 to 2,000 words, written in English. We publish it in our other five languages.
- Claims backed by a standard, a manufacturer document or your own documented experience. Unsupported claims are removed.
What we do not publish
- Marketing for a company, product or service presented as an article. If you want that, book a sponsored article; it is always labelled.
- Confidential material — anything you are not free to share about an employer, client or site.
- Text copied from other sources.
What you get
- Publication free of charge, in six languages.
- A credit line at the end of your article with your name, your role and one link to your professional profile.
- Technical review by our editorial team before publication. We may edit for clarity and ask you questions; we never change the technical meaning without agreeing it with you.
You keep the copyright in your work. By sending it to us you allow us to publish it, edit it for clarity and translate it.
How to send a proposal
E-mail [email protected] with the subject line “Contribution” and include:
- a working title and a three-line summary of the article,
- a short note on your experience and your current role,
- a link to your professional profile,
- any link between you and a company or product the article mentions.
We will reply by e-mail. Please do not send a full draft until we have agreed the topic. Our editorial and corrections policy explains how every article is reviewed and corrected.
