Bourbon is an offshore marine services group whose head office is at 50 rue de Forbin in Marseille, France. It supplies surface and subsea marine services to oil and gas operators and to offshore wind projects, and reports key figures as at 31 December 2025 of 4,600 employees of 83 nationalities, 153 vessels and operations in 32 countries, with a total recordable injury rate of 0.57; the fleet figure is dated 30 June 2026.

Vessel families

Bourbon markets its fleet in six families: anchor handling tug supply vessels, platform supply vessels, multi-purpose support vessels, crewboats, fast support intervention vessels and remotely operated vehicles. The multi-purpose support vessels carry active heave-compensated cranes and DP2 or DP3 dynamic positioning, and are specified to install and maintain equipment of up to 120 tonnes in water depths of up to 3,000 metres while providing logistics and accommodation capacity. Their work includes ROV operations to 4,000 metres, installation of cables, umbilicals, flexible pipes and short rigid pipeline lengths, wellhead installation, well stimulation support and diving support. The Bourbon Evolution 800 series sits at the centre of that class. On the mobility side, the group launched a 34-metre crewboat model in 2025 for personnel transfers between shore bases and offshore fields.

Service range

Services are grouped under marine and logistics, subsea and mobility. Marine and logistics covers support work in both continental and deep offshore; subsea covers inspection, maintenance and repair and construction support; mobility covers the transport of personnel and light cargo. Bourbon delivers these through a network of shipmanagers, affiliates and partners, which the group presents as the way it keeps common quality and safety standards while operating locally in each region.

Contracts in Africa, South America and Asia

Bourbon's contract book is concentrated in West and Central Africa, South America and Asia. In Angola it extended a collaboration with ExxonMobil that it describes as fifteen years old, signing a five-year charter in September 2025 for new 34-metre vessels transferring personnel between Soyo and Block 15, about 80 miles offshore. In Congo, a five-year contract with Eni Congo signed in July 2025 renewed its crewboat fleet with six new vessels. Guyana followed in December 2025 with a five-year agreement, including extension options, with ExxonMobil Guyana Limited, starting in the first quarter of 2026 with a large platform supply vessel. In 2026 the group signed a multi-month subsea services contract offshore Ghana on the Jubilee field using the MPSV Bourbon Evolution 802, won a three-year offshore services agreement with a two-year extension option from Prime Energy Resources Development B.V. in the Philippines, and started the first long-term contract for the Bourbon Evolution 810, an inspection, maintenance and repair vessel working off the Indian coast.

Fleet investment and ownership

On 22 April 2026 Bourbon announced it had added thirteen offshore support vessels since the start of the year, worth more than USD 180 million, ten of them already under contract, an expansion it attributed to backing from its new shareholders. Ownership changed on 22 December 2025, when Davidson Kempner and Fortress became majority shareholders in a transaction that the company said came with simplified governance and a renewed management team. On 4 June 2026 Bourbon announced the appointment of Olivier Blaringhem, who has more than 25 years of industry experience, as chief executive with effect from 14 September 2026, succeeding Gaël Bodénès, who had held the role since 2017.

Safety, environment and training

Safety is published through key indicators, awareness campaigns and a set of Life Saving Rules, with an external ethical alert line for reporting concerns. The environment pages set out a policy of measuring greenhouse gas emissions from the service vessel fleet and support for floating wind development, a market Bourbon treats as central to its long-term outlook. In June 2026 the group also committed to training the next generation of French maritime officers. The company publishes media relations contact details at [email protected] and does not list a general enquiry mailbox.
