Monjasa is a Danish marine fuels group owned by Monjasa Holding A/S and headquartered in Fredericia, with a second Danish office in Copenhagen. It combines physical bunker supply using owned and chartered tankers with trading and sourcing operations, and also supplies marine lubricants, biofuel blends and LNG, with tools for carbon dioxide and biofuel delivery reporting, invoice checking and risk management.

The 2025 financial year

The group's 2025 annual report, covered by Monjasa in April 2026, recorded total revenue of USD 4 billion against USD 4.5 billion in 2024 and a net profit of USD 39 million, down from USD 65 million. Consolidated equity rose to an all-time high of USD 472 million from USD 444 million, lifting the equity ratio to 64.7% from 55.6%. Marine fuels volumes were 6.8 million tonnes, level with the group's largest reported year. Supply operations totalled 16,741 across 877 ports, up from 15,870 operations in 2024, and headcount rose to 745 from 678. Looking ahead, the report notes that the marine fuels market became more dynamic than 2025 levels after the outbreak of the Middle East crisis in late February 2026, with disrupted trade flows and strong tanker markets; Monjasa projects a net result of between USD 120 million and USD 150 million for 2026.

Fleet, ports and organisation

  • The group ended 2025 with a fleet of 28 vessels, down from 33 a year earlier, described as a balance of owned and chartered tonnage.
  • Monjasa opened its 15th international office in Japan during 2025, adding Tokyo to a network that includes Fredericia, Copenhagen, Limassol, Athens, Dubai, Walvis Bay, Luanda, Panama City, Houston, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore and Shanghai.
  • Crew management was brought fully in-house during 2025 through the group's technical ship management company, Montec.
  • Chief Executive Officer is Anders Østergaard; the group works with DNV and holds ISCC certification for its biofuel supply chains.

Operational milestones, 2025 to 2026

In January 2025 Monjasa carried out the first LNG bunkering in the United Arab Emirates, supplying Costa Cruises, and in March 2025 it completed Panama's first biofuel supply operation. In October 2025 the group was awarded a NATO fuel provider contract, and in December 2025 it set out in-house crew management arrangements and new maritime partnerships. In April 2026 Monjasa began moving its regional fleet to United Arab Emirates flag, and in September 2026 nine new trainees joined the Monjasa Oil and Shipping Trainee programme.

Services beyond bunker supply

Alongside gas oil and fuel oil supply, Monjasa offers marine lubricants, sourcing services for shipowners seeking physical supply in specific ports, and a reporting service covering carbon dioxide and biofuel deliveries. The group also publishes an invoice checker, a mobile application for customers and a risk management service covering credit and counterparty exposure. Responsibility topics are split into compliance, health, safety, environment and quality, information security and privacy, and an independently operated whistleblowing line. Monjasa works with ISCC certification for biofuel supply and with DNV, and has published responsibility reports with carbon accounts since 2021.

Fleet investment and people

Monjasa has grown largely by acquiring tonnage rather than ordering newbuildings. It took full ownership of five tankers ahead of the 2020 sulphur cap and added USD 160 million in extended credit facilities in 2019 for the same transition. A Panamax vessel was bought in 2023 as floating storage for West Africa, and in 2024 the group acquired two more tankers aimed at West Africa's offshore industry and introduced what it described as the largest tanker in the Panama Canal. Monjasa Holding's equity passed USD 400 million in April 2024 after its second-best financial year. Board appointments published by the group include Lars-Erik Brenoe in February 2024, Lotte Gronborg Lundberg in October 2020 and Peder Gellert Pedersen of DFDS in April 2019; Rasmus Ravnholdt Knudsen became Group Chief Financial Officer in January 2022.

On the recruitment side, the Monjasa Oil and Shipping Trainee programme launched in 2018 and takes on a cohort each year across the group's offices. Nine trainees joined in 2026, following eight in 2022, eleven in 2023 and thirteen in 2024, with the group reporting a surge in applications in September 2025.
